Gateway: The First Years - Hearing and Speech Agency

Gateway: The First Years

Gateway Pre-School was inaugurated as a part-time trial program for children with communication difficulties in 1957. In 1960, the organizers of the program formally incorporated it as the Association for Children with Communicative Disorders (ACCD) before becoming independent in 1964 after missions diverged. It wasn't until 1966 when the ACCD and the Baltimore Hearing Society officially merged that  The Hearing and Speech Agency of Metropolitan Baltimore was formed and that Gateway School became an entity within an organization that took 40 years to firmly establish. This year we celebrate Gateway's 60th anniversary at A Very MOD Affair! Come celebrate 60 years of groundbreaking education with us!
