Galya has been with the Hearing and Speech Agency since July 2007, providing outpatient occupational therapy services to children ages 0-18. She holds a Bachelor degree in Psychology from Brandeis University and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Columbia University.
Galya has worked in pediatrics for 17 years in a variety of settings and with children with varied diagnoses. She has provided home-based services through Early Intervention, worked in special education preschools and serviced children in local clinics. She has also assisted in lab instruction for physical and occupational therapy graduate students at University of MD and Community College of Baltimore County.
Currently, at the Hearing and Speech Agency, Galya treats children with developmental delays, physical disabilities and sensory processing disorders. She provides direct therapy to the children as well as training for their parents to ensure carry-over of learned skills to the home setting. In addition to her outpatient clinical responsibilities at HASA, Galya also supervises Level I and Level II occupational therapy students and provides occupational therapy services to a number of children in the Gateway school. She also works with a team of therapists to complete eligibility assessments for the Baltimore Infants and Toddlers Program.
Galya is licensed by the state of Maryland and is certified by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy, Inc.
